New Home Week 11-14

I have only one gallery for the last three weeks. This is partly because I have been busy and unable to go out and visit the house as often, but mostly because the progress being made is somewhat difficult to show well in images. Lots of seemingly little things have been done: light fixtures, a/c, water heater, appliances, wall plates, fence and gates, rough grade on the yard, painted garage doors, door seals, etc. Mostly things that are not very interesting in a photo. We have noticed nearly every little detail being done, however. We are all very excited for our new house. Kaitlyn can't wait to inhabit the Master Bedroom as she is convinced that room has been built specifically for her and her Barbies. I guess Steph and I will have to find a way to fit our bedroom set in one of the kids' rooms :).

We are currently planning on doing a final walk-through on the 16th, close on the 19th, and starting to move in on the 20th! Very soon! As of yesterday, the house still needed the sink in the garage installed, a few more door seals, and a really good cleaning. This will probably be the last series of photos I will post of the progression of the construction process. I will put up some final photos of the house once its finished and furnished and give somewhat of a final report on our experience.

Our New Home

Well, I guess to get started, I'm going to give a bunch of links to some photo galleries. These photos are of our new house during its construction. We started looking at homes in August of 2007, took about a month or two to decide for sure who we were going to have as a builder. Then we decided on a location, a lot, and a home plan. That made it time to sell the house we were living in at the time. It took about 5 1/2 months to sell our old house, and then we set the builder loose on our new one. The construction start date was right around the 1st of May. We moved into an apartment to wait out the construction process and are still in there as of this post. We are currently talking about rate locks, final walk-through dates, and closing dates; so we are nearing the end of the process.

I hope you enjoy the galleries and catch a glimpse of how exciting it can be to build a new home.

All these links will open a new window with a small gallery of images that you can browse through:

Why Monsters, Monkeys, and Moes?

Well, if you've just stumbled on this little micron of cyberspace, then you probably have no idea what I'm talking about. I will leave it up to you to try and figure it out, if you're so inclined.

For my family and friends that are reading, you probably already know and don't care. So read on and enjoy. There's a lot going on from day to day in our little world. We probably can't post very often, but we will occasionally update everything for anyone interested.
